While the performance captured on February 27th, 1969, at the Fillmore East in San Francisco is probably the most widely-distributed version of the track thanks to its appearance on the 1969 live album Live/Dead, there are literally hundreds of ‘Dark Star’ performances for fans to parse through and defend across the band’s extended live catalogue. So that brings us back to the best version of the song. It took a one-off appearance in 1978 for fans to restart their calls for the song, and with only six performances total in the 1980s, ‘Dark Star’ quickly gained a reputation as the rarest and most exciting of Dead breakouts at any particular concert. We've also rounded up the best leather Apple Watch bands, the best Apple Watch bands for kids, the best Apple Watch bands under $20, and the best Sport bands for Apple Watch.Between 1973 and the band’s hiatus from touring starting in late 1974, ‘Dark Star’ was played less and less frequently. It suits my classic, feminine style and has quickly become a favorite in my vast Apple Watch band collection. If you prefer something with a bit more sparkle, I heartily recommend the elegant Wearlizer Rhinestone X-Link Apple Watch Band (opens in new tab). It's pretty much everything we like about the link bracelet style without the fuss, and it can even extend an additional five inches beyond the original size to suit your needs. Our personal favorite is the Speidel Twist-O-Flex Stainless Steel Stretch Band (opens in new tab). It may be hard to find many options for larger wrists, but these are some of the best ones that we've rounded up. Choose from a handful of single or two-tone colors. Add or remove links to fit wrists from 5.5 to 8.67 inches you don't even need a tool to make adjustments. It's elegant and classy with just a touch of bling. This band is even more gorgeous in person.
